Tracy, I had to leave right after my new jig cam in the mail so I hadn't even opened it when I made the earlier post.

Man, you guys came up with an excellent solution to the original jigs problem! I am very happy with the new one!

Now I just need to think of something creative to do with the first one.

Thanks Dave! You can use the first one to make other jigs with. It already has a centerline drawn on it, so I'm sure the can be used if you cut it in pieces. It will make some nice bridge cauls. Good luck, and let me know if you have any problems with it.

Got mine today Tracy.... . Much Thanks!
This one sure looks like it will do the job it's designed for, & the bridge locator is a real plus! I used the old one to line-up a Tele I'm working on, just to get an idea on how it worked, and I'll be darned if I can I see any misalignment going on? It ran down the center of the fingerboard & right through the center of the bridge. If there is is any discrepancy, where would it be?

Please excuse the poor pic quality...

Rich,
Have you put the new one on it to see if there is a difference? Also, it depends on how much taper and width. If there is barely a taper and a wide fingerboard, you will probably not see any difference. Let me know if both the old and new give exact same results. Thanks for info and pic!

Hi Tracy...Yes, it appears that both jigs yield the same results on a quick check-out. The only off-centering I can see is on the dot inlays, & and they might be slightly off. Everything else lines up. I also checked it with a straightedge, & a string on both sides of the fretboard running down to the saddles, so the neck is aligned OK. Irregardless, either one seems to work on this guitar. I mainly got your jig for centering procedures on acoustic building. Anyway...great job on both accounts .

Tracy,

Mine arrived today as well. It looks very nice but I have not tried it out yet.

One question though; the included documentations indicates I should have recieved a scribing tool with a "golf" pencil with a pencil hole with the jig. While I did recieve the bridge locator - I don't remember if this was suppose to include both accesories or just the bridge locator extra.

John,
Thanks so much for the endorsement, it means a lot coming from such a great builder!

Wow Rich, I guess the first one wasn't that bad after all! Some of the testing I had done on the first version was on an electric too, and that is why it looked perfect. But if you try it on an acoustic, I'm sure you will get different results. Thanks for sharing pics and clarifying, that is much appreciated!

Scott,
You should have received the centerline scriber. We'll get one to you immediately. There are some orders out there that did make the first round, and when the 2nd round came around, my partner thought you were in the first round, so he figured you already had one. No worries, I'll get one to you immediately!
Tracy

Paul,
You should get it today. It was shipped Monday via USPS Priority mail(I thought that was a pretty fast horse they use for this service, but you're a long way from TN). Let me know if you don't get it by tomorrow. I do know how you feel when waiting on packages, I'm obsessed with tracking them too!

Thanks Tracy,

I'm just yankin' your chain, since everyone's raving about the new jig.

I'm in a small town, distinction of prison capital in New York state, and I've mailed letters locally that have taken 3 days to be delivered

Hey Terry,

Yes, Malone. I've been here for most of the last 10 years.
It's really the foothills of the adirondacks!

Well I am almost without words, but I must say something because I am very grateful to whoever donated Tracy's jig to me. I wasn't fishing for a handout, and I certainly am humbled to be thought of. I have found great joy in giving to others over the years, and that is self-rewarding. Sometimes stuff like this happens, and it's so great to experience the blessing of giving/receiving.

So, THANK YOU for your act of kindness. It rasises the bar for all of us, and encourages others.

I sent a note to Tracy, thinking he'd forward it to the giver. Since Tracy made this public, I want to publicly thank the giver. It reminds me daily of how we can help others in so many ways. And we all need some kind of help somewhere along the way.

I encourage everyone to exercise the simple principle of giving, and "paying it forward"

Thanks again
